Most people that know me know that I either am a car fanatic or a guitar hoarder. Both of these statements would be correct.
I’ve been playing guitar since age 6 and have amassed a collection over my 12 years of what my mother would call “too damn many.”
Cars and guitars are my thing, and while I’ve talked plenty about my car obsession, here’s a peek into my other passion.
The latest acquisition.
Here’s a car! My Les Paul Junior being transported home in my Merkur XR4Ti.
2015 Gibson Les Paul Junior. Tone for days.
Taylor acoustic.
Epiphone WildKat. 10/10 best name ever.
These 3 were all made by my father and myself.
Epiphone Nighthawk next to my DBZ Imperial which was just recently sold.
1960’s Teisco hence my original name on here.
Homemade Telecaster.
The years of “Fat Matt”
When I first started playing age 6.
Partial family picture. I will have a complete picture one day mark my words.

Never played any. But guitars are cool though.

Love my PRS SE. I have the Custom 24 in blue. Also a Dean Diamondback, Schecter Damien Elite 8 string, Stratacoustic, and Epiphone dreadnaught.

Wow, that’s a collection. I’ve got 4, but I’m thinking about unloading one or two since I don’t play as much as I used to.
My go-to is a Gibson Les Paul Studio, in the matte brown finish. It’s a chambered body, so it’s not as heavy as a Standard. I’ve also got a Hagstrom HJ500 hallow-body electric. It’s a cool guitar, but it doesn’t resonate as much as I’d like on its own. My regular acoustic is a cheap one - a Fender Kingsman. Nothing to write home about, but it has a good sound for the price. Lastly, I’ve got an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. It was my first guitar. I swapped out the stock pickups for Seymour Duncan Alnico IIs.

Just this year I’ve started getting into Les Pauls and Gibson in general. I absolutely fell in love with my Junior at a Guitar Center in another state but was not allowed to purchase it as the Taylor was on its way at the time. Once the dust has settled from explaining that one to my mom I immediately went to the local Guitar Center and told them to order the Les Paul Jr. hanging on the wall in Kalamazoo. It came in a week later and I still love it as much as I did when I first plugged in. I just got the green one which is a Joe Bonamassa signature Epi with BurstBuckers. The tone from that guitar is insane. The neck is velvety and delicious and the bridge has just enough bite without getting too twangy. Love that thing. Always nice to hear from another guitarist. Keep on riffin’

I haven’t taken mine out of its case since I last moved. It seems like a knockoff Les Paul. Semi-hollow body since I used to play jazz with my friends. It’s signed by Pat Metheny though.
I also turned my starter guitar into a fretless when I was in high school. That was a fun project and it sounded cool. I gave it away when I left for college to a friend who was more interested in music

A lot of my collection is made up of guitars that either have too much sentimental value to consider getting rid of, or aren't worth enough to to justify offloading them. As it stands I currently have 21 of varying price, vintage, and playability. What do you have guitar wise?

The brownish guitar in the center of the picture with them sprawled out on the floor is likely going to become a fretless one of these days. A fretless guitar has always intrigued me and that guitar was essentially bought as an experiment to see how little we could purchase a brand new guitar for.

I believe mine was an ibanez starter kit that came with a tiny amp. I looked up stuff about it online and seemed doable. It did take a while, though. I’m sure I also didn’t make it perfectly flat. The sound is totally different though, since I put on giant solid strings that the internet said to do

Yeah, definitely gotcha there. And holy hell, I thought that picture of twelve was a bunch. That means I have a seventh of the amount you have, ha-ha.
My three I have right now. The SG is my go-to guitar, as it basically does anything I want it to, and is probably my favorite to play. The middle is a Jackson Kelly KE-3 that my grandfather carved for me for my 16th birthday. Wish I had more pictures of it, because its pretty damn cool. Plus a Floyd-Rose and Shark Tooth inlays to boot. The third one is another KE-3 I bought for $100. I had intentions of messing around with it, but it plays well and its way too clean to tear apart, so we’ll see. I may sell it sometime but, again, not sure.

Awesome man! Yea, the more expensive the guitar does not necessarily mean that it’s better to play. Been in the same boat with buying guitar with the intent of messing with them but they play too nice to do anything except play. I had an Ibanez for a few years with a Floyd Rose and shark tooth inlays. It had a wizard neck, was silver, and had a stainless steel pick guard. I ended up trading it in after a few good years with it because my playing focus turned more bluesy and despite how good of a guitar it was, it was hard to be taken seriously turning up to a blues gig with an Ibanez. Hey, like my parents say, there are far worse things for an 18 year old kid to be spending money on. Keep on playing man.

I have one guitar and one bass in playable condition. I also have a Fender Musicmaster from the 1950s that needs restoration but it’s not really worth it. I could do $700 worth of work to it and it’d be worth $350.
The playable guitar is a Jackson custom shop (USA) build that a friend of mine bought in the 80s. It’s got a plate on the back with his name on it. I always liked it, and when he decided to sell it to fund something new, I bought it.
Here’s a better picture of the paint job -

Been playing since I was a teen. My problem isn’t so much with collecting guitars as it is amps. Only ever owned three guitars, but at one time I had 6-7 amps.
